Set in the heart of the Otago Central Rail Trail, Maniototo is fast becoming a tourist and domestic destination with a difference. Its unique landscape, friendly people, range of activities and defined seasons are complimented by a feeling of complete freedom upon entering the Maniototo Plains.
Built in 1950's by Teddy Woods for then Dentist, Jock Anderson, this Art Deco style building was built for and until recently has always been the only Dental Centre in the township of Ranfurly.
Mosgiel dentist Paul Sapsford bought it in 2000 and operated a "country practice" every Friday until December 2009. Amie (Paul's daughter) and husband Jeff Pont bought the building in 2011 and, after a major refurbishment, opened The Practice Gift Gallery on Father's Day 2013. The shop soon became a "hub", serving coffee, presenting beautiful art work and locally made products and clothing to locals and visitors alike. This building has potential for almost anything, accommodation, office or retail the options are endless.
